Front Desk Manager

Large Orthopaedic Group Practice seeks an experienced Front Desk Manager.   

The Front Desk Associates demonstrate professionalism by using a patient centered approach of building trust, meeting needs and delivering solutions through recognizing the needs and opportunities that exists.  This position screens the customer to determine how we can best help them, responds to questions regarding physicians and types of services offered, learns to recognize a potential “opportunity” and facilitate smooth patient flow and services to the customer.  They support the clinical staff by scheduling appointments and handling administrative processing and record- keeping. Support the mission of the company by demonstrating excellent customer care.  This position is responsible for tasks needing completion daily, weekly and monthly, as well as identifying the ongoing and varied needs of the patients.

We are in need of a Manager with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or 7 years experience in a leadership role in a physician office, medical center or hospital business office environment.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of multiple insurance lines of business including government plans such as Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Commerical and Managed Care Plans.  Additionally, the candidate must have knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD9 codes, as well as an understanding of HCFA 1500 claim forms. Must have experience with the use of Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PDF files, etc. Experience with NextGen billing system a plus.

The Front Desk Manager is responsible for managing front desk functions and supervising staff. Other responsibilities include analyzes accuracy, maintaining outcomes, uses collection management reports to keep self pay accounts receivable current, follows guidelines of collection guidelines and refers to the accounts receivable department when necessary, supervises and manages gateway submissions and provide rejection reports and tasks, maintains and reviews staff daily productivity quotas, schedule the appropriate staff necessary based upon physician schedules, provides weekly training on customer service, policies and procedures and provides coverage in case of absences, and other duties or assignments as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.
