Background

Dr. Bret Baynham is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon. A pediatric orthopaedic surgeon is a physician who, after obtaining a doctorate of medicine, has completed both a five-year orthopaedic surgery training program and additional one-year subspecialty training in pediatric orthopaedic surgery. This combination of general, specialty and subspecialty training allows a pediatric orthopaedist to provide musculoskeletal care in the most sophisticated and comprehensive manner available. Dr. Baynham's pediatric orthopaedic training was obtained both at the Nemours Children's Clinic (Jacksonville, Florida) and the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children (Greenville South Carolina Unit).

Scope of Practice

The type of problems Dr. Baynham encounters vary from common: fractures, strains and sprains, infections of bone and joints, walking disturbances, angular/ rotational deformities of legs, flat feet, scoliosis (spinal curvature). He also specializes in the uncommon pediatric problems: neuromuscular diseases, complex spine deformity, hip dysplasia, club feet, limb length discrepancy, congenital malformations.

The practice makes every effort to schedule patients within 2 to 3 weeks of their request.
