Edward Sandall, MD

Training

Edward Sandall, M.D. has been in practice in Palm Beach County since

1968. He is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Sandall's years of experience; first as a diagnostician and secondly as a surgeon establishes his belief that each patient has different needs and treatment must be tailored to fit that patient. After explaining and educating the patient about his/her problem and a decision for surgery 'has been established, he has the training, experience and ability to carry out the procedure with expertise. He loves treating his orthopedic patients and relates to all of their problems. He is definitely a patient advocate.

Dr. Sandall is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He spent three years active duty as a physician in the United States Air Force in Japan then residency in Orthopedic Surgery and Children's Surgery at the University of Florida at Jacksonville- He has been in private practice in Palm Beach County since July 1968 through the present. He specializes in arthroscopy and total joint replacements of the lower extremities.

He is now concentrating his practice to the lower extremities; total joint replacement of the hip, knee and ankle, and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and ankle. (He was the first arthroscopic surgeon in Palm Beach County). All of his surgery is performed at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach.

Scope of Practice

By being vigilant and keeping current and informed, in the latest techniques of new and innovative surgery, combined with years of experience, he brings to this group techniques and procedures not done elsewhere in Palm Beach County. This includes total ankle replacement and UniSpacer implants to replace severely damaged menisci of the medial compartment of the knee. This unique and new procedure may significantly forestall total knee replacement without removing any bone. This procedure is performed through a very small incision and allows better range of motion sooner. This procedure and implant was developed for patients who have failed arthroscopic surgeries and/or degenerative arthritis confined to the medial compartment of the knee. Unlike unicompartmental replacements, no bone is removed, making future total replacement less difficult for the physician and the patient.
