Frank F. Cook, MDDr. Cook is Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Board of North America. He also performed a trauma fellowship at the prestigious A.O. Clinic at Ülm Germany. His specialty is the treatment of sports-related injuries and the arthroscopic surgery of the upper and lower extremities. He treats traumatic fractures by referral. After his orthopaedic surgery residency program, Dr. Cook completed his sports medicine fellowship training at Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles, California. There, he provided services for the L.A. Rams, Lakers, Kings, Dodgers, the California Angels, and several collegiate teams. "The field of sports medicine is the best of all possible worlds for me." Currently, Dr. Cook serves as an orthopaedic consultant to the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals major league baseball teams, numerous professional and amateur athletes, and other sports teams in South Florida. As a member of PBOI, he actively pursues research on sports injury mechanics, treatment and prevention. Previously he was co-director and founder of the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory at Good Samaritan Medical Center.. |
