He has been practicing in Palm Beach County since 1988 and takes great pride in treating all problems related to the Foot & Ankle, whether large or small. The foot is often neglected and overlooked by many physicians. After injury or inherited conditions, the patient can be left with difficult and complex problems, which may require reconstructive surgery. Specifically, Dr. Schilero treats common foot problems in adults and children such as fractures, bunions, hammertoes, ingrown or deformed toenails, heel pain, arch pain and ankle sprains. Dr. Schilero uses a combination of surgery, rehabilitation, custom orthotics and bracing, along with the latest techniques such as laser surgery, shockwave therapy for heel pain and endoscopic surgery to treat these very painful conditions. Dr. Schilero received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University in New York City and then completed his podiatric medical school training, with honors, at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Schilero finished his surgical residency in Michigan with training specifically in Foot & Ankle surgery. Dr. Schilero has participated in the training of over 100 foot surgeons in the United States. Dr. Schilero is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and is Board Certified in Foot & Ankle Surgery. Dr. Schilero is a Former President and an original founder of Northpoint Laser and Surgery Center in West Palm Beach Florida. Dr. Schilero is a consultant to the Florida Marlins baseball team, nearby universities and an instructor in surgery for the Miami Veterans Hospital.
