Physicians
Michael Cooney, MDAdvanced sports medicine is the specialty of Dr. Cooney. His expertise ranges from treating sports-related injuries of all types, to experience in the most complex types of arthroscopic surgery. Following his orthopaedic surgery residency at Emory University & Affiliated Hospitals, Dr. Cooney completed his fellowship training in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, and the Piedmont Sports Medicine Clinic in Macon, Georgia. He is presently a consultant to several sports teams in The Palm Beaches. His participation with the Palm Beach Orthopaedic Institute allows him to pursue his research interests in analyzing sports performance.
