I was coming to PBOI for second opinion and concerns I was having regarding my upcoming arthroscopic knee surgery another physician was preparing for. After my verbalizing to Dr. Noble about my current concerns, he read the reports and read the films and concurred that we take a different approach. After his compassionate understanding and in office procedure, I stepped off the table and had no pain, and in 2 days following, my swelling had dissipated. What an amazing experience. I am thankful to Dr. Noble and staff for their honesty and less invasive treatment for now. Maybe in the future I will require surgery, but for now, I’m one happy person
It was a wonderful visit, great staff. Dr. Noble and his medical assistant made a great impression on me…understanding and knowledge was impressive. I am to return for tests results and feel very encouraged by Dr. Nobles ‘s choice of tests he ordered for me. For the first time in eight years of problems with my left hip I meet a doctor I can honestly say….kudos.
We were seriously considering having a Total Hip Replacement done at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC and are extremely ecstatic that we decided to have Dr. Noble perform the operation locally. I had been suffering with hip pain for about 18 months and had tried various non-invasive treatments without any success. Met with Dr. Noble on an exploratory basis and was immediately comfortable with his knowledge, experience, and procedure for performing the operation. He was attentive, patiently answered all our questions, and explained the operation in great detail. He suggested the ideal technique and the use of VERILAST technology for the operation based on my extensive research on this procedure which gave me the confidence to entrust him with my Direct Anterior Hip Replacement operation. Had my operation at Jupiter Medical Center and was able to bear weight on my operated leg that very night. My pain level was very manageable and I significantly reduced my pain meds two days after my operation and completely stopped using pain meds three days later. I was on a walker for a week after my surgery and then switched to a cane. The nurses were very impressed with my mobility while I was at the hospital. Dr. Noble visited me at the hospital each morning to check on me and change my dressing. Again, he patiently answered my questions. I met with Dr. Noble two weeks after my hospital release and he was very satisfied with my healing progress. I also give kudos to his medical assistant. She is very professional, pleasant, organized, and she coordinated all my preop requirements efficiently. I would highly recommend Dr. Noble for his expertise in Direct Anterior Total Hip Replacement procedure.
I am writing this note to you to express my very deepest gratitude and a multitude of thank you’s for doing such a great job clearing up my tibia and knee of the nasty infection I arrived at your office with. I wanted to tell you the story of how I came upon seeing you as my surgeon. I think someone must have been looking out for me when I called PBOI the day before Thanksgiving. After calling and holding for about 20 minutes, a very nice man picked up the phone and apologized for the wait and told me that PBOI was short staffed as it was the day before Thanksgiving. I explained to him that I had a MAKO uni knee at HSS about a month before and my surgeon from HSS told me to call Dr. Fowble and see him ASAP. I was then going to explain HSS and MAKO uni to him and he told me he knew HSS and knew all about the MAKO knee. Dr. Fowble was on vacation, but he was going to put me in with a wonderful doctor that was more familiar with the MAKO knee and I would be in very good hands. As it turned out, the person that answered the phone was “Brian” who I later found out is the chief executive officer of PBOI who just happened to be answering the phone the day before Thanksgiving. From the moment you came into the exam room and had a look at my leg, I knew that when Brian told me I was going to be in good hands, that was an understatement! I realize I probably threw your whole office into a tither that afternoon. I was really scared and afraid, but you took hold of the situation and within ten minutes I had tests done and was on my way to the hospital and booked for surgery first thing Thanksgiving morning. You even came by that evening just to explain again to me what was going to happen during surgery. Dr. Noble, I really appreciate all that you have done for me. Not only is the infection gone, but the incisions look amazing! You are a talented young surgeon with a wonderful personality and sense of humor. Keep up the good work and I now know where I will be going if I need any more replacement parts! Thank you once again.
As you know, I had a partial knee replacement and things could not have gone better. First of all, absolutely no post surgical pain – than Dr. Noble and his PA for me. When I got home, the Passive Motion machine was there, but it turns out I already had more flexion in the knee than the machine did, so the physical therapist sent it back. I’m already at about 120 degrees of flexion and within 2-3 degrees of full extension. All that prehab work seems to be paying off. Home care has gone well. The wounds are healing and there is no draining, so the nurse released me today, and physical therapy will release me on Friday. I have already begun to set up outpatient PT with Jupiter Hospital Rehab. Once again, every aspect of the surgery and post op has exceeded expectation.
I am very fit and love to slalom water ski. AVN was discovered in my right hip, which required hip replacement surgery. Total hip surgery is major surgery. I wanted the very best surgeon, with regard to successful surgeries and the use of progressive or cutting edge technology. I wanted surgery that would allow me to return to slalom water skiing. Through my research of doctors in Palm Beach County, I discovered Dr. Andrew Noble.
Dr. Andrew Noble is one of the few surgeons that has successful experience with the fairly new procedure of anterior hip replacement. This type of surgery requires many more hours of study and there is a learning curve. Posterior hip replacement results in a 12″ scar at the back of the hip and cuts through muscle and nerves, resulting in longer recovery. Anterior hip replacement is less invasive, with about a 4″ cut towards the front of the hip. Muscles and nerves are spread apart, not cut. This results in less pain, quicker recovery and ultimately more flexibility in the hip joint. Also less dangerous with regard to the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve, which runs from the lower spine through deep in the buttock into the back of the thigh and all the way down to the foot.
Dr. Noble is very knowledgeable and was always willing to answer any of my questions. He has a great bedside manner. His staff is always accessible. His medical assistant is extremely helpful and organized. It was great that I could reach her via email or text. Dr. Noble was never in a hurry to perform surgery. We did explore other options until the pain made daily function impossible.
I had my total anterior hip replacement surgery and Dr. Noble used the Hana table. The surgery was very successful and both of my legs are of equal length! I had very little edema (swelling) or bruising. I was up and walking the next morning. I walked a couple of times that day with the aid of a walker. Two days later, I did much more walking and I was released home later that evening. Each day gets better! I do not walk with a limp. I no longer have that excruciating pain that I had prior to surgery. I do have some pain, but that is to be expected since I am still healing. It has been a week and I can walk without walker or cane, but I prefer to use the walker for safety. Everybody tells me that my recovery has been extremely good. I expect to be back to slalom water skiing in about 3 months.
Listening to all of Dr. Noble’s advice and instructions has led me to a rapid recovery.
I have been a patient on the 4th floor since yesterday. I had a total hip revision/replacement. Everybody on staff at every level has treated me with the utmost care, respect, and kindness. From PACU to all the nurses on my floor starting right after surgery…from the day shift to the night shift. Physical therapy was also a very good experience. Hopefully I will be going home on Thursday. Thank you to everyone involved and a shout out to Dr. Andrew Noble who is by far the best orthopedic doctor in Florida.
