The longer the median nerve is compressed the more permanent the damage to the nerve fibers. Therefore, early treatment to relieve pressure on the nerve usually results in a better prognosis.
Balloon Carpal Tunnelplasty (BCTP) is a minimally invasive surgery that can preserve the transverse carpal tunnel ligament (TCL). This surgery requires a very small incision and a fast recovery.
