Dr. Petersen is a fellowship trained spinal surgery specialist.
He utilizes minimally invasive techniques trying to minimize pain and preserve mobility with cervical disc replacement surgery and motion preserving procedures when appropriate. While at UCLA for his fellowship he learned endoscopic spine surgery.
He focuses on all aspects of the spine from the neck to the lower back and SI joint. During the course of his career, Dr. Petersen has authored and published numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters relating to spine and orthopedic trauma. In addition, he has presented his work at numerous meetings across the United States. Having had spine surgery himself, Dr. Petersen demonstrates empathy towards all his patients in the hopes of getting them back to the things they love.
Dr. Petersen grew up in Naples, FL and was named Florida 2A basketball player of the year before going to play Division I basketball at the University of Akron. He is now excited to return to Florida to take care of patients and bring his training from across America back home.
In his spare time, Dr. Petersen enjoys fishing, golfing and spending time with his wife, daughter, and golden retriever.
